CONSTITUTION OF THE WILTON & SHERFORD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

1. Name

(a) The name of the association shall be the Wilton & Sherford Community association (WSCA)

2. Aims

(a) To work for the benefit of the community and the local environment.

(b) The WSCA shall be non-sectarian and not affiliated to any political party.

3. Membership and Subscription

(a) Membership of the Association shall be open to all residents living within the area broadly bounded by Trull Road, Shuttern/Upper High Street, Vivary Park, Cutliff Farm, Wyvern Road and Queens Drive.

(b) The level of any annual contribution shall be determined by the committee to cover the perceived costs for the forthcoming year. It will be subject to confirmation by a simple majority of the registered members present at the AGM.

4. The Committee

(a) The Committee of the WSCA shall consist of a Chairperson, Vice - Chairperson, Honorary Secretary, and Honorary Treasurer and up to 4 members (a total of 8). The Committee may appoint an assistant secretary and a Liaison Officer from amongst it's members as required.

(b) A quorum of the committee shall be empowered to fill vacancies occurring during the year and to co - opt members as required.

(c) The election of committee members will take place at the Annual General Meeting.

5. The Annual General Meeting

(a) The Association must hold at least one meeting of the members in any calendar year and this will be the Annual General Meeting (AGM). This meeting will take place in November. At the AGM the Chairperson will report on the activities of the Association over the past year and present a report on the annual accounts of the Association for the year ending September.

6. Other Meetings

(a) Meetings of the Association shall be convened by the committee as necessary. A special meeting of the association will be convened if requested by six or more registered members.

7. Amending the Constitution

(a) The constitution of the Association shall not be rescinded or altered except by the vote of a majority of the registered members present at a meeting convened by a notice of at least 21 day's. Issue date: 27th November 1995 Revised Date: 24th November 2004
