Easter Event.

The Easter Event was discussed and the following activities agreed:

Face Painting – It was suggested that the children could carry out the face painting themselves with help from there parents. The paints and mirror to be provided by the Association.

The Obstacle Race items have been made available.

Eggs for the egg painting and the egg and spoon race will be made available by Alwyn, Steve to arrange the boiling of the eggs.

Races to be played on an ‘ad hoc’ basis.

Alan S to organize ‘Bat the Rat’ and refreshments.

Summer Event

The Summer Event is scheduled for September 10th.

Ideas for activities were encouraged.

Early ideas include Charity Stalls, and the possibility suggested by John Dawson, of the availability of a Glider for viewing purposes, which all agreed would generate a great deal of  interest.  John agreed to investigate the options.

Parking on Wilton Lands.

The parking on Wilton Lands was discussed.

It seems that there will be a one off £120 flat fee for the parking on Wilton Lands but this privilege is unlikely to be used more than 8 occasions in a year, however there is no upper limit to the number of vehicles allowed for the fee..

AOB.

Mud on the road at Wilton Rd.

The mud on the road outside the new development off Wilton Rd causes some concern however it was thought that the developers have tried to keep the situation under control and we can only monitor the situation. The footpath is a particular problem as it cannot be cleaned due to the parked vehicles.

Association Finance.

The meeting was asked to consider means by which money could be raised for the Association. The following ideas were raised.

Barbeque evening:
Pizza evening:
Cheese and wine evening:
Sale of unwanted presents:
Entertainment – possibly speaker based

Quiz Night.

The next Quiz night has been set for the 10th June. All welcome

Civil Service Sports Club.

Alan S advised that the CCSC has been sold and that the site will be used for development.

Vandalism.

Concerned was raised with regard the vandalism in the area. Whilst it was accepted that it was only relatively minor Steve has spoken to Nick Stone (Community Beat Officer) who has agreed to monitor the situation. However the varied timing of the incidents makes monitoring difficult.

There have been some more serious incidents in the area notably a break in to the local hairdressing salon but the meeting thought that these were premeditated and hence probably not carried out by people living in the area.
Another concern raised was the fact that local young people may be held to blame for something they have no involvement in and no control over.
