Summer Picnic - Haines Park/Highgrove

The event has been cancelled for reasons well discussed and documented. The prime concern
was the impact that a boycott, in whichever form, may have on the children.

It was agreed that a conciliatory approach might well be the best way forward in an effort
to unite the objecting minority and the Association. This will require a meeting of all interested
parties including councillors and council officers. A full letter of invite to an open meeting has been
prepared for copy. A separate letter of invite from Councillor Bradley was being prepared and posted
to the whole of Haines Park Residents.
A press release regarding this item has also been released.
Steve to get the date for the meeting published in the Gazette.

Friends of Vivary / Wilton Lands.

Steve has received invitations to two focus groups: Recreation & Commercial and Events

Parking on Wilton Lands still causing concerns and is ongoing. A way forward has been hard
to find but consultation with Taunton Deane is required and a good relationship with the Friends of Vivary.

Sherford Stream

Sherford Stream - Open Spaces. The land is not owned by the Council but is owned by some
Military Attaché. Local resident is forwarding on the detailed information.

Some discussion took place regarding the state of the area. Debate revolved around the fact
that planning permission, if granted, may resolve the eyesore problem. There may also be scope
for a nature walk and it was thought that the provision of "dogbins" would be valuable.

Barnardos

Steve Has heard from Bill Gair the Director of Retirement villages. Plans now Due to be submitted
towards the end of September. No further news on issues although Steve has received an email
from a resident regarding Blagdon Lodge. Also some activity has been seen on the land with Surveyors
and yesterday with developers and plans?

Accounts - Phil not found any more favourable terms with any bank at present. Steve and Phil to
investigate all options.

Community Bobby - Do we feel that we should invite the local bobby to meetings so that if there
