Previous Minutes:
The previous minutes were read and accepted by the committee.
Mr Benson
Mr Benson raised the question of the Hedge Planting being considered with TDBC on Haines Park Green, in particular the position
of the hedges. Steven showed Mr Bensen the general plan of the considered layout.
Summer Celebration:
The planned summer celebration was discussed and Steven advised that He was in possession of the required License and Insurance.
He had also received a letter from the Fire Brigade in line with the License.
He advised the committee that the Samba Band had withdrawn from the event because of Lack of time and Public Liability insurance.
Steven asked the committee if they knew of anyone with a generator for the puppet show. John Meikle advised that he would check
this out and advise back.
Gareth advised the meeting that the Morris Dancers had withdrawn, due to holidays they could not get a team together.
Gareth also advised that Paula and a Friend would run Face Painting on the day and that he would procure the paints.
Alwyn advised that she had the Arts and Crafts materials and asked Gareth to bring along the Tarpaulin on the day.
The Mayor - Councillor Jean Allgrove advised that she would like to run a tombola in aid of her chosen Charities.
Bishop Henderson School are going to do a coconut shy a Tombola and a crazy sands stall.
Parkfield Primary is going to provide the school orchestra and a stall yet to be advised.
Phil is sorting the history table and will make contact with Rosalind this week.
Steve to check availability of the Hall in case of rain and to see if we can borrow some tables.
Gareth is putting together a selection of races and games and Steve is to confirm that the parachute will be there.
Gareth is also organising a reception committee for the Mayor and some flowers need to be arranged for the day.
Steven is dealing with the reserved parking for the Mayor on the day and this will be in the central Hammerhead of Haines Park.
Steve is also to book the single Porta-Loo as called for in the License.
Friends of Vivary and Wilton Lands.
Steven Advised the committee that he and Phil attended the council meeting on 29th July regarding the Consultancy - New Horizons, report.
The report itself calls for a cessation of Licensing to park on Wilton Lands which the association hopes will remain in there and come into
force. The report contains a whole range of recommendations regarding the parks improvement and development and the association
were glad to lend its support to the proposed strategy.
A heated discussion began surrounding the parking on Wilton Lands between members of the committee and the Ward Councillors.
The debate was stopped as the content had been thoroughly discussed before, however it was decided that the committee would write
to Councillor Meikle stating the committee's views on the matter and asking that all Councillors be made aware of the issues and facts
surrounding the parking on Wilton Lands. Councillor Meikle agreed to ensure this was done.

Sherford Stream
Steven Advised the committee that he had been in touch with Stephen Martin-Scott regarding the ownership of the stream path and
the overdue works that was planned for earlier this year. Stephen Martin - Scott was chasing this up and would come back to us soon.
He was now away on holiday for two weeks. Steven had spoken to Highways regarding the Bank Erosion and they were investigating this
and would come back to us.
Crossing on Trull Road
Stephen Martin - Scott was going to speak to the Highway's and advise back to the Committee.
Queens Drive & Batts Park
Steven Reported to the Committee that Bob Kirby had produced the first draft of the letter to Residents of Queens Drive and
Batts Park and that Paul Bryan of TDBC had given the letter his endorsement and had asked the Association to print and distribute
the letter with his endorsement. Steven asked Bob if he could add the endorsement and email the letter across to him and he would print
it out and hand back to Bob for distribution.
Notice Board
Steve and Phil advised the committee that the notice board had now been erected outside the Bed & Breakfast on Middle Way. There was
a discussion around the general condition and state of the rose bed in which the notice board had been erected. In the end it was decided
to ask Chris Mulchay if we could have the roses removed and have ground covering plants instead that would flower. Steve agreed to sort
this one out.
Sherford Road
Steve has spoken to Neil Pinkham at highways regarding this road. Neil had advised Steven that he was at the present moment compiling
the list of roads for resurfacing but could not advise if Sherford was on that list. List should be available early October.
Trull Road
Alwyn advised of a dangerous part of Trull road where the Ivy from a property in Haines Hill was growing out on the road and that cyclists
had to swerve to avoid it and had nearly caused and accident. Alan W. said that he would initially have a word with the people living in that
particular house.
Planning Issues
Steven advised that he had a copy of a letter to Mr Blackmore from Tom Noall of TDBC in response to Mr Blackmore's letter regarding
Highways issues and Planning. Steven read the letter out and the general consensus was that we would have to ask our residents to write
direct to Highways on planning issues that directly concern Highways.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 9:30pm.
