The apologies were accepted, the previous minutes were reviewed and agreed subject to the correction of the date stated for the
Summer Event.

Matters arising:

Planning Application for New Housing at Haines hill:
The meeting was advised that the above planning application has now been withdrawn. This was welcomed by the Association,
however there was thought that a revised application may yet be submitted at a later date.

Planting at Haines Park:
The hedge planting at the above location is still on schedule for the 15th January.

All are welcome to help, any contribution will be valued. In particular it was thought that the involvement of younger people would be very
beneficial.

Community Audit:
Subsequent to the discussions regarding a community audit at the last meeting the group had now developed some ideas as to how
progress this item, these being:

Circulation of a questionnaire possibly with the newsletter.
Making questionnaires available in local community areas such as The Church Hall , The Red Cross centre The Vivary Arms etc.
Other ideas suggested that possibly a survey could be carried out at the Easter and Summer Events

It was agreed that these were good ideas but would need to be pursued in the near future particularly if a survey is to be carried out at the
Easter Event.

The questionnaire will need to be developed and it was agreed that it will need to be simple and short to encourage people to respond
but it will also need to be focused enough to avoid a 'change the world please' response.

All were asked to consider this issue.

Spring and Summer Events:
All present were asked to consider ideas for the Spring and Summer Events and bring them to the February meeting.

It was considered that the opening of the crossing on Trull would be a good addition to the profile of the event overall and it was suggested
that Stephen Martin Scott should be contacted to see if the two activities can be co-ordinated.

With regard the Summer Event the meeting was advised that the Taunton Deane Morris Men were available however they required a
£75 fee for a 30 minute slot.

Regretfully due to charge the Association decided not to proceed with this.

Andy Hall offered to talk with his connections regarding the provision of a marquee.

AOB:

Princess Margaret's Planning Application:
A application has now been made for the Social Housing to be segregated from the other houses. There is also a proposal to move
some housing. This has been discussed with Tim Burton, he is monitoring the situation and will refuse the application if it is deemed
not satisfactory.

Parking Middleway and Churchill Way:
Parking at Middleway and Churchill Way continues to cause concern. Having sought legal advice its seems the covenant in place does
have some bearing on limiting the parking and may be able to be used to have an impact on improving the situation.

However the main aim of the Association is to establish a safer and more sensible parking arrangement and it is hoped that this can be
achieved through negotiation with the relevant authorities.

Hartrow Close:
No further information on this issue at present.

Vision for Taunton:
John Williams has agreed to give a presentation on the Vision for Taunton on Thursday 17th February at 7.30pm. The presentation will
take place at the Wilton Church Hall and all will be welcomed to attend.

Any opportunity to raise funds should be considered please. Ideas suggested that the meeting could supply tea, coffee and biscuits which
people could be supplied with hopefully for a small voluntary donation.

Queens Drive and Batts Park:
The meeting was advised that during a powerful electrical storm a couple of years ago a very large Welingtonia tree was struck by lightning
and had to be felled. The tree had a preservation order on it and the residents have been asked to replace the tree at their own expense.
The residents have applied to the Secretary State for advice on the issue.

Future Meeting Dates:

Tuesday 8th February
Tuesday 8th March
Tuesday 5th April
Tuesday 10th May

The date of the AGM was not set as it was thought that a meeting held earlier in the year may encourage more people to attend due to
better weather conditions and lighter nights. it was subject to discussion and it was agreed to consider options at a later meeting.

There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.30pm
