1.  Apologies:

Ruth Harmon
Stephen Martin-Scott
Rob Kirby

2.  Previous Minutes:

The apologies were accepted. The previous minutes were reviewed and agreed.

3.  Parris Farm update:

This item is still ongoing. The toilets and more of the steel infrastructure have now been removed however the concrete slab is still in place and intact. It seems the progress made has negated the imposing of fines at present notwithstanding that all the work required to restore the site to its original condition should have been completed by the end of July.

Steve Holmes to discuss the situation with Mr. Harding of TDBC.

4. - Parking Issues

No further movement on this issue at present. There is a possibility that improvements may be made at the junction of Sherford Rd. and Wilton Rd. The issue has been discussed with Ian Titcombe by both Steve Holmes and Stephen Martin-Scott. Ian advises that the issue of safety at the junction is to be reviewed at a forthcoming meeting of the Highways Department scheduled to take place in February. One possible solution suggested is the removal of parking on the Bus Stop (East side) of Middle Way. By the junction.

Parking in the Haines Hill area continues to cause a problem however as this is being dealt with by the Haines Hill Parking Association there is little the WSCA can do to help.

No problems with the Venture Development – building vehicles have causes some inconvenience but within reason and the problem will soon disappear as the site construction concludes.

5. –  Comeytrowe Housing Meetings:

Ruth and Rob attended the first meeting and gave feedback at the November WSCA meeting.  It was unclear if further meetings had been held to date so there is no further feedback at present. However after discussion it was agreed that given the very long timescales of the proposals it may be prudent to remove this item from the Associations agenda until a future date as we could have little more influence at this stage. This was agreed.

6. –  Notice Board:

The new notice board has now been completed and is in place. The existing notice board in Middle Way. has been refurbished.

7. –  Lane – Churchill Way to The Bishops House:

The TDBC advised that they have no obligation to maintain the overhanging trees at the above location and in fact the ‘arch’ formed by the overhang was considered to be a feature. Given that there are no health and safety issues the Deane advised that there is no funding for any work to be carried out in the lane.  In the light of this it was agreed that there was little the Association could to further pursue this matter.

8. -  Dog Faeces:

Jenny Hutt to take photographs. Ongoing

9. - Christmas Church Services:

The two Christmas Church services held at St. Georges Church were well attended and feedback from Nick Taylor advised the meeting that the services were well received.

Nick thanked the Association for their involvement with both the services and the provision of refreshments afterwards.

10. – Newsletter:

The WSCA Winter Newsletter was produced in early December and distributed well before the Christmas period. Once again Rob has produced an excellent Newsletter and he was thanked for his efforts.

11 – A.O.B

Burton Orchard: The future use of Burton Orchard was discussed. As it is a large empty building there was some thought that it may be used as a bail hostel in the future. It seems however that this has currently been overruled and hence it would be unwise of the Association to raise the profile of the issue further at this point in time.

There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.10pm
