Member notices.

Steven Holmes will be stepping down as chairman at the AGM.  Unless a replacement can be found the Association may have to close.  Steve will stay on the committee to support a new Chair.  Cllr. Meikle suggested a public meeting to attract more people.  They then could ask for a volunteer Chairman.  A tour of the new development site might stimulate some interest.  It was suggested that the CVS should be contacted as they could find a Chairman.  Another possibility was a meeting “Crime in Sherford” with the police as speaker, possible date 12/10/06.

Summer Event

Alwyn has written to the Fire Service but has not had a reply.  She bought 30 Gliders for Children to Assemble.  Pat Ogden has contacted some charities but they have not answered.  There was further discussion on the possibility of an “Antiques Evening” but the first step had to be the identification of a suitable valuer.  The puppet show and the marines have both declined.

Quiz Night

The quiz night on 10/06/06 was a success and enjoyed by those who attended.  The next would be held on 16/09/06.  A chauffeur service could be offered to encourage more entrants.

Parking on Wilton Lands.

Variation on Traffic Order so that parking could take place up to 8 times a year.

AOB.

Wilton Lands.

Bouncy castle on Wilton Lands for the whole of the six weeks holidays, This was thought generally to be a good use of Wilton Lands.

Mud on the road at Middle Way & Wilton Rd. – This issue was raised again and is an ongoing problem every time we have rain.  John said that he would see if there was anything that could be done,

News Letter.

Steve raised the point that he had sent out the wrong date for the Summer event  and that information regarding the civil service club needs to be amended in the next newsletter..

Funding.

Funding from a charity if there is a suitable project, in the region of £500 is available.  Steve to write a letter before 020706 when the charity next meets asking for more information.

Planning

A planning application for a Telecommunications mast on Trull Road has been raised by Cllrs Meikle and Hall and they have written to the residents advising them to contact TDBC if they have objections with Planning reasons.  The Association have already submitted theirs.
