Parking Issues

Various parking issues again raised concern notably these included:

Haines Hill:

The parking at Haines Hill appears to be being abused in particular by the police organization who appear to be using it as a ‘private’ park and ride system as they park there and are picked up by alternative private transport. Whilst it is accepted that this totally legal it seems a little unfair on the residents of Haines Hill who, whilst in the main have off road parking, would value the availability of parking for their visitors to be respected.

Churchill Way:

Mr and Mrs Butler expressed there concerns and indeed those of a number of people regarding the parking in Churchill Way. Firstly they considered that, despite improvements, there were still safety issues surrounding the parking arrangements. Secondly the concerns were the same as those of Haines Park in that visitors, Taxis and the disabled now have nowhere to park.

After Further discussion it was agreed that the Associations input had helped make improvements to the parking issues in Churchill Way particularly regarding the safety issues. However it was thought that further improvements would be difficult to achieve.

Queens Drive:

Authorization of double yellow line installation has now been approved for the immediate area of approach into Queens Drive.

Planning Issues:

Enforcement is in progress to close the car cleaning business at the edge of the Sherford Stream due to environmental issues

The Blagdon Lodge Coach House is to be demolished due to the fact that the foundations are unstable.

The planning application for social housing within the Blagdon Lodge complex has been agreed.

AOB:

Wellingtonia Tree replacement at Batts Park – This lies in the hands of the TDBC, some effort has been made to replace the tree but it is completely unsatisfactory. The TDBC are considering their next course of action.

Notice Board – The Association have been asked to consider providing a notice board at the bottom of Sherford rd. a suitable site is being looked into.

News Letter - It was agreed that a News Letter was due, Rob kindly agreed to produce one.
