Pervious Minutes:
The apologies were accepted. The previous minutes were considered and agreed.
Parking Issues :
Parking in the area continues to be an emotive issue. It was accepted that from the original proposals some improvements have been made. Whilst this has helped it is still a far from satisfactory situation for the residents living in the area. In particular there are still serious problems which need to be addressed these are as follows:
Parking at Haines Hill – Residents are often unable to park outside there own properties and sometimes have problems with access. Restricted or residence parking systems were discussed at the meeting and although these have been discussed with the highways in the past a resolve has not been forthcoming.
Sherford Rd Middleway Junction – This junction is considered dangerous. The parking of vehicles on both sides of Middleway at the Junction means that traffic turning from Sherford Rd are confronted by traffic in the middle of the road.
After considerable discussion the following actions were suggest.
E-Mail a summary of the problems to Stephen Martin- Scott
Write to Ian Titcombe of the Highways Authority. Ian has been advised of this problem but no resolve has not been forthcoming to date
Stephen has offered to discuss the situation with Ian Titcombe and help in any way he could. Stephen was thanked for his attendance, his input to the discussion and his offer of any help he could give.
Venture Developments:
A development with no parking for residents has been proposed for 8 dwellings at the rear of Wilton. The application is it seems likely to be granted. The situation to be reviewed at the next meeting when it is hoped further information will be available.
Parish Farm Update:
The owners have lost their appeal, the large steel building is to be taken down and the concrete slab removed within the next 6 months.
Sherford Lane:
The problem with very large lorries which use Sherford Lane was raised. The lorries travel to and fro from the adjacent farm which refurbishes large farm equipment and are therefore not only large but heavy. Damage on occasions has occurred to premises along the lane and whilst the repair of the damage has been funded by the farm or its insurers it is clearly an unsatisfactory situation.
It was suggested at the meeting that there may be an alternative access to the farm site and this would merit further research. In the mean time it was thought that provision of height and width restrictions on the road would bring considerable benefits. This will need to be discussed with The Highways Authorities, a way forward to be discussed at the next meeting when the various options have been aired.

It would keep the Association up to date with issues concerning the Park and give an interface to all users of the Park and its associated facilities. It was also thought it would be valuable to invite the ‘Friends of Vivary Park’ to send a representitive(s) to our meetings.
