Present: Steve Holmes - Chairman Alan Wedderkopp Gareth O'Rourke - Vice Chairman Deborah Westmancoat Treasurer Alwyn Lindley Bob Kirby Apologies: Mr Dare Carol Hobson Andy Hall Alan Stoodley - Secretary Jean Allgrove The apologies were accepted and the minutes agreed. An Item raised under the previous minutes was that we had received a £10.00 donation in the form of a voucher from Tesco Stores. This voucher was used to purchase socks for the Easter event for glove puppet making. Alwyn advised that we still have some of the socks left over. Quiz Night The quiz night that was held on 23rd April was hailed a success and the Association managed to raised £105.27 from the evening. It was thought that this should become a regular event and good fund raiser, this in mind a date of 2nd July was set for the next one with a further one being set for 24th September and this day would also be the AGM date. The AGM would take place at 7pm until 8pm and quiz would follow this. The quiz masters that we used last time come from Minehead and do not charge us but it was felt that we would spend all of our goodwill if we keep asking them to do the quiz. Therefore it was agreed that Gareth would arrange the questions and that he and Deborah would be quiz masters for the July one and we could discuss the next one at a later date. Also as we had discussed the NEW AGM date Steven pointed out that the accounting period end should be brought forward also so that the next twelve months would fall in line and that the Report of accounts could be presented to the AGM. The financial year for this year will end on 31st August 2005. Summer Event. The summer event was briefly discussed but it was agreed that with the exception of organizing two main events on the day that the rest could be discussed at the next meeting. Steven is to try and deal with the Samba Band and he would also talk to Andy Hall regarding the Puppet Show, Marquee and Generator.. Planning Issues Steven reported that Princess Margaret's has been quiet since the developers withdrew their last application and that we were waiting to see what happens next. In respect of the Red Cross area Steven had sent a letter of objection to the council which had been circulated round all of the committee members asking them to do the same. The current outcome of the application was not known at this time. A.O.B Parking on Wilton Lands. Alan advised that there is a meeting on 16th June of the Health & Leisure review panel at TDBC. He also advised that all Councilors were being invited to a 100 year celebration of the Bowls Club on the Saturday before. It was felt that this was probably a lobbying exercise as well on the part of the Bowls Club. Parking Issues - Middle way/Churchill Way. Steven reported that he had now heard back from Mr. Titcombe of County Highways and he passed round a map received which showed the proposed alterations to existing parking restrictions that was being suggested. Steven advised the committee that Mr. Titcombe had not really gone far enough and that he would be speaking to him to try and tweak the arrangements further. Crossing on Trull Road. With the crossing on Trull Road still not finished the official opening has been cancelled. It was felt that no other arrangements would be made for this until it was finished. Deborah mentioned that she had not been able to get a response out of County Hall despite leaving four messages. At the time of typing these minutes, Deborah has now heard from County Hall who have apologized for the further delays and have advised that the crossing should be fully operational within two weeks. Deborah felt that we should continue to wait until it is finished before rearranging the opening. Steven read to the committee an extract of an email sent to Deborah from Alan Paul which was concerning the pedestrian sanctuaries at Mount Nebo. In the extract Alan Paul states that he and Alan Wedderkopp would reinvestigate the improving of these. Steven pointed this out to Alan Wedderkopp and asked him to speak with Alan Paul and commence this. Newsletter Steven brought along the next issue of the newsletter for members to review and comment on. Comments were made for amendments and inclusions which Steven agreed to change or add. Steven also pointed out that with this issue we are delivering the survey forms. There being no other business the meeting closed at 10.00 pm. Date of next meeting: Tuesday 14th June Wilton Church Hall 8pm
