2. Previous Minutes:
The apologies were accepted. The previous minutes were reviewed and agreed.
3. Parris Farm update:
The concrete slab remains a problem. It is contested that a slab existed before the current one was laid and the current one is no higher than the previous one and hence does not change the effect it has on the flood plain. However its seems that there is aerial photographic evidence to suggest that this is not the case. The Environment Agency is now involved and it seems they will investigate in June. John Meikle offered to seek clarity regarding the situation.
4. Parking Issues:
Stephen Martin-Scott has pursued this issue but has had little feedback to date, particularly regarding the safety issues. He did however advise that a resolve of the problems at Haines Hill are at an impasse. It seems it is considered by the authorities that as the drives are quite large and accommodate several cars coupled with the fact that the drive entrances are staggered means that the ‘off road’ parking issues are diminished.
5. Festival of Flowers:
Carol gave the meeting an overview of the forthcoming Festival of Flowers which is to take place on the 20th and 21st of June. She also advised that the Association had been asked if they would be prepared to provide a flower arrangement for the Festival. It was agreed that this would be a good idea to both support people who have supported us and to raise the Associations profile. It was agreed that up £40 should be spent on the arrangement which possibly could be based on a hymn theme. Carol kindly agreed to arrange. The Association have also been asked if we can help with the marshalling. Again Carol agreed to organized and asked if Alan S could send her a list of the Associations members and the contact details.
6. Dog Faeces:
There was no progress on this as Jenny Hutt is helping with this problem and was not available. Matter ongoing.
7. Work at Wilton Lands:
This work now appears to be completed. The area is to be used to accommodate the equipment required for the park maintenance.
8. A.O.B.
Lane from Churchill Way to the Bishops House - Stephen Matin-Scott advised that there may some S.C.C money available after the June elections to help with the resolve of the overhanging tree problems.
Cherry Tree lane ‘fly tipping’ – Ongoing.
Community Beat Officer - Nick Stone has now moved away from the area and his place has been taken by Claire Griffiths, it was proposed that Claire should be invited to a future WSCA meeting to get to know us and gain an appreciation of our concerns. Alan S to organize.
Friends of Vivery Park – Alwyn to be invited to attend future meetings.
Notice Board in Wilton Rd. – Unfortunately this has been vandalized. The extent to be fully investigated and the options for repair considered.
Chair Person – Steve advised that there is a probable resolve to the issue on the horizon. He could not be specific at this stage but was optimistic. This would both enable Steve to stand down and facilitate the ongoing existence of the Association. Fingers crossed.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.00pm
Date of Next Meeting:
Tuesday 21st July 2009 7.30pm St Georges Meeting Hall.
