PCSO Debra Perry
1. Apologies:
John Meikle, Terry Hall, Marion Hutter Alan Stoodley
2. Previous Minutes:
The previous minutes were reviewed and agreed after the amendment of ‘Beat Constable’ Greg Banks to PCSO Greg Banks
3. A.G.M:
The minutes of the A.G.M were read and agreed, by those who were present. Jenny Hutt updated the meeting about the fly tipping issue. She thinks the last cut of the season has occurred and at present the banks are clear. Steve Holmes had suggested at the A.G.M. that he would write a letter to homes in the area highlighting the problem and informing residents that throwing garden rubbish onto the bank was considered to be fly tipping and therefore illegal. Jenny will advise Steven if the letter is required.
4. Burtons Orchard:
There is still some concern around this issue including the fact that the Taunton hostel will house approximately twice the numbers of the Bridgwater hostel. A further meeting for WSCA residents has been arranged for Thursday 28th January and a newsletter will be sent informing people of this. A pre-meeting will be held with Trish Lyons and Sandra Bishop from the Leaving Care Team, Steve Holmes & Carol Hobson representing WSCA and PC Charlie Gear in early January.
5. Car Parking:
The Park & Ride has now opened and Steve noticed their appeared to be gaps in the parking at Churchill Way today – need to see if this continues. Alwyn produced photos of parking at Haines Hill which showed that it was a very tight squeeze to get a car through and larger vehicles would certainly not be able to. Need to see if the P&R will alleviate this situation or not. The Sept 09 newsletter informed residents of where we are with the current situation. Steve to email Stephen Martin-Scott about the problems of the P&R not being open for shift workers
6. Carol Services:
We have, again, been asked by St Georges to help with the two Carol Services in December; Family Service at 6pm on Sun. 20th and Traditional Service at 7pm on Wed. 23rd.
Kitchen duty on 20th Alwyn, Geoff and Carol
23rd Steve, Blossom and Jenny
Readers for 23rd Jenny and Carol.
The congregation will provide mince pies, WSCA will provide mulled wine and squash/juice and Alwyn will provide table decorations.
7. Chairperson:
A suggestion to raise the profile of WSCA at Blagdon Lodge and also to invite someone from their residents committee to attend our meeting was raised and PCSO Debra Perry said she would mention this as she was to see them later in the week and to feed back to Steve the outcome of the meeting.
8. A.O.B.
Dog Faeces:
Jenny has reported that she has not seen any lately so hopefully this will continue to be the case.
Trees in Hartrow Close:
A tree has blown down in the recent high winds, although it was not one of the Horse Chestnuts. The trees have recently been inspected so this was a surprise!!
Disturbance in Middleway:
It appears that there had been a disturbance in Middleway over the weekend with a group of people making a loud noise and staggering around in the road. PCSO Perry was not on duty and had not heard of this so could not inform the meeting any further on this issue.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.45pm
Date of Next Meeting: Tuesday 19th January 2010 at 7.30pm in St Georges Meeting Hall.
